Confirma SSA 16 casos de muertes por influenza

Mexico, Apr 24 (EFE) .- The owner of the Secretary of Health Jose Angel Cordova Villalobos, announced Friday that total 16 confirmed cases of deaths from a new influenza virus.

Interviewed on television news Primero Noticias, said that there are 45 other cases "suspicious" and 943 people suffering from respiratory tract that are under investigation.

Commented that there are some cases in other states of the country, but are isolated and have not proven to be due to influenza, but one in Oaxaca.


Cordova Villalobos said that has not yet been decided but could be extended to other epidemiological alert states, but has already been communicated with the state governments asking them to strengthen surveillance.

Announced that, based on declarations by the World Health Organization (WHO), the virus appeared two months ago in the southern United States and "mutual of pigs and was transmitted to a human."
