Vietnam: 443 Confirmed Cases of Swine Flu

HANOI, July 22 (Xinhua) -- The Vietnamese Ministry of Health confirmed 35 more cases of A/H1N1 influenza, bringing the total number of flu patients to 443 in the country, local newspaper the People reported Wednesday.

Among the new infection cases, 34 patients are in the southern provinces and one in a central province, said the ministry.

So far, 328 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals. The rest are being quarantined and treated, all in stable conditions, said the newspaper.

The ministry also expressed its concern over the quick spread of A/H1N1 virus at the community-level of the country.

There have been 61 students and teachers found infected with the A/H1N1 virus at Ho Chi Minh City's Ngo Thoi Nhiem high school and 23 people tested positive to the virus in a commune in the southern province of Dong Nai, according to the newspaper.

No death in connection with the disease has been reported in Vietnam up till now.
