(IsraelNN.com) Agriculture Minister inspectors on Thursday destroyed 43,000 pullets at Kibbutz Ein-Shemer, about halfway between Tel Aviv and Haifa, which were infected by the avian flu. Burial of the corpses and their food was expected by the end of the day.
The chicken coops will be disinfected and take new fowl in about a month. The owners will be compensated. Medical samples on other birds in a ten-mile radius have been negative.
