Current situation Influenza (H1N1) in Malaysia 2010 For Epid Week 05/2010 (31 Januari - 06 Februari 2010)

Number of cases of influenza A (H1N1) reported in epid week 5 / 2010 has increased by 25% compared with the last two weeks.
Inclusion in the number of cluster cases also increased from 4 in the epid week 4 / 2010 to 8 weeks on the incident cluster 5 / 2010.

Inclusion in the creation of clusters have been reported during the last week, is in SK Padang Negara, Kuala Terengganu; SK Indera Shahbandar, Kuala Lipis; MRSM Kuala Terengganu; PLKN Merang Suria Holiday Camp, setiu; SMK Mengabang Telipot Complex, Kuala Terengganu; LKTP SK Rattan, Dungun; BC Mahmaud, Samarinda and Beaconhouse Sri Inai School, Petaling Jaya. Number of students / trainees who are involved for each cluster is between 3 to 21 people. Five of the eight incidents cluster are positive for influenza (H1N1). Preventive measures and control the spread of infection in each school / PLKN has been implemented.

A total of 391 new patients with symptoms of Influenza-Like Illness (Inclusion) has been admitted to hospital for treatment within the last week (31 Januari - 06 Februari 2010). Meanwhile, 356 cases have been discaj out. Inclusion in the remaining cases are still being treated across the country on the last day of the week epid 05/2010 (06 February 2010) is of 380 cases in 48 hospitals including 4 two private hospitals. Of these, 14 patients or 3.7% is a case of Influenza A (H1N1) is confirmed through laboratory tests. In the same period one (1) cases admitted to the Intensive Care Unit 2 cases being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on the last day of the week. One of these cases is children aged less than 5 years. Until 06 Februari 2010, the number of outstanding cases positive influenza A (H1N1) is 12.419. No new cases of H1N1 death and permanent total accumulated up to 77 now.
