سول (رويترز) - قالت كوريا الجنوبية يوم الثلاثاء انها أعدمت حوالي 15 بالمئة من رصيدها من الخنازير والماشية لاحتواء بؤر للحمى القلاعية في حين ذبحت 3 بالمئة من الدواجن لمكافحة انفلونزا الطيور.
SEOUL (Reuters) - South Korea said on Tuesday it has executed about 15 percent of its stock of pigs and cattle to contain the hotbeds of the foot and mouth disease, while 3 percent of slaughtered poultry to fight bird flu.
وحتى يوم الاثنين أكدت كوريا الجنوبية -رابع أكبر اقتصاد في اسيا- ظهور 120 حالة اصابة بالحمى القلاعية ارتفاعا من 116 حالة يوم الجمعة الماضي و26 حالة اصابة بفيروس (اتش5ان1) المسبب لانفلونزا الطيور ارتفاعا من 23 حالة يوم الجمعة.
Even on Monday, South Korea confirmed - the fourth largest economy in Asia - the emergence of 120 cases injured foot and mouth disease, up from 116 cases last Friday, and 26 cases of HIV (H 5 to 1) strain of bird flu, up from 23 cases on Friday.
وقالت وزارة الزراعة في بيان انه تم ذبح 2.1 مليون حيوان معظمها من الخنازير و3.6 مليون من الطيور معظمها من الدجاج.
The Agriculture Ministry said in a statement it had been slaughtered 2.1 million animals, mostly from pigs and 3.6 million birds, mostly chickens.
وظهرت أول بؤرة للحمي القلاعية في خنازير بمدينة اندونج في اقليم جيونجسانج الشمالي في 28 نوفمبر تشرين الثاني وانتشر سريعا الى ستة اقاليم مما دفع كوريا الجنوبية الى اطلاق حملة تطعيم في ارجاء البلاد.
Appeared first outbreak of hoof and mouth disease in pigs in the city of Andong, North Gyeongsang province, on 28 November and quickly spread to six provinces, prompting South Korea to launch a vaccination campaign across the country.
وبالاضافة الي بؤر الحمى القلاعية أكدت كوريا الجنوبية ايضا اول حالة اصابة بانفلونزا الخنازير في 31 ديسمبر كانون الاول في بط بمدينة تشيونان في جنوب البلاد وفي دجاج في مدينة ايكسان باقليم جيولا الشمالي.
In addition to the hotbeds of FMD confirmed South Korea is also the first case of swine flu on 31 December in the city of Cheonan ducks in the south of the country and the chicken in the city of Iksan North Jeolla province.
ولم تعلن البلاد عن أي اصابات بشرية بانفلونزا الطيور. Did not announce the country for any human cases of bird flu. وتصيب الحمى القلاعية الماشية -بما في ذلك الاغنام والابقار والخنازير- لكن الحيوانات المصابة بالمرض غير ضارة للانسان. Foot and mouth disease and infect livestock - including sheep, cows and pigs - but infected animals are not harmful to humans.
