Share Tamiflu in North Sulawesi provincial government Kotamobagu

- Provincial Government (Provincial) North Sulawesi (Sulawesi) through the Department of Health has distributed the drug Tamiflu to prevent the spread of bird flu (H5N1) in the City Kotamobagu, North Sulawesi.

"We already share in the City Kotamobagu tamiflu as a precaution," said Chief Controlling Health Problems North Sulawesi Provincial Health Office, Dr. Jimmy Lampus, in Manado, on Thursday.

Surveillance personnel are sent to Kotamobagu to provide counseling as well as record lest any new cases occurred in the area.


He said 11 patients suspected of bird flu has been admitted to hospital Kandouw Manado City and handled according to the procedure. The patient was just waiting for the results of blood tests.


"The general situation report 11 patients suspected of bird flu continued to improve, is expected to recover more quickly and returned to the City Kotamobagu," explained Lampus.


The standard procedure was performed according to him, if there are chickens died suddenly, lest any residents who approached or direct contact. Chickens died suddenly had to be destroyed by burning.


"If any citizen has the flu, runny nose or shortness of breath not far from the locus of the death of the birds, have brought the hospital to get special treatment," he said.


Still according to him, there are simple things to consider as habituation of healthy living, including the environment must be clean, wash hands with soap before eating or after bowel movements.
Another thing to watch out he added, residents need not be afraid to eat chicken, just need to follow hygienic standards.
"No matter if the chicken is cooked in hygienic for five minutes in boiling water bird flu virus will die," he explained.


Earlier on Monday (09/05/2011) 11 Gogagoman Village residents, District of West Kotamobagu, Kotamobagu City, was treated at General Hospital (RSU) Kandouw Manado unexpected contaminated by the virus H5N1.
