Indonesia: Anticipate Poultry #H5N1 in East Lombok, Montong Betok

Not only the Department of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry who do anticipate an outbreak of bird flu began sweeping East Lombok (Lotim). Public Health Service (Dikes) Lotim also do the same to avoid the spread of bird flu cases to the public.

"We have prepared officers to alert the bird flu cases," said Head Dikes Lotim H. Suroto, S. Km, told reporters in Montong Betok, Monday (17/10).

He urged people not to frequent contact with poultry, particularly those indicated bird flu. "For people who are sick and suspected of bird flu was immediately taken to a health center or hospital to get treatment immediately," he added.

"We hope, suspected cases of bird flu occurred in the village of Betok Montong is not contagious to humans," he said. Facilities for handling cases of bird flu if it happened to humans have been prepared. "Logistics handling of bird flu is already available," tandasnnya.
