She said that the child developed symptoms on 17 September / September last, and was admitted to the hospital in 21 of the same month, where he underwent treatment with the drug "oseltamivir", and left the hospital on the twenty fifth of the same month, after the completion of treatment until fully recovered.

The statement pointed out that the investigations showed that the child became infected as a result of mixing of poultry are raised near the house of his family, have been confirmed infected with bird flu by the Central Laboratory of the Egyptian Public Health, which is one of the centers of the global network for surveillance of influenza, sponsored by the World Health Organization.

Furthermore, local media reports said the death of three children of one family, aged six years, province of "Fayoum", south of the Egyptian capital, earlier this week, as a result of infection with symptoms similar to gastroenteritis and influenza.

The newspaper "Al Ahram", the leading Egyptian newspaper, that the Directorate of Health to maintain held an emergency meeting Friday to discuss the reasons for the deaths of three children, and symptoms of the disease, which infected, and causes of death, as well as preparations for the Directorate to address the "bird flu", and how to prevent it.

However, the acting director of health in Fayoum, Dr. Anwar Al Swaify, ruled out that these children have died as a result of bird flu, saying the family did not raise birds, and noted that samples were taken from the children for analysis to determine the real cause of death.

According to WHO estimates it out of a total of confirmed cases of bird flu in Egypt so far, and Of the 152 cases, 52 cases of which led to the death.

According to the WHO, in the previous estimates, the virus has infected 565 people in various parts of the world, since its inception in 2003, and led to the deaths of 331 people.

The influenza virus causes images directly and indirectly, in the execution of more than 400 million birds and poultry, causing economic losses estimated at $ 20 billion.
