MYSETERIOUS DISEASE

Patna (Magnificent Bihar): As many as seven persons had died and unspecified number of persons were suffering from mysterious disease in Bageshwari village under Haveli-Kharagpur sub-division of Munger district.
Residents of the village are afraid of the disease and an uneasy calm prevailed in the village. Experts and villagers had differing opinions on the disease, affecting the village.
A high-level team of medical experts led by the head of the department of medicine in the PMCH (Patna Medical College Hospital), Professor (Dr) Vijay Prakash and senior officials of the Bihar’s health department, who had air dashed to the village on Wednesday morning, returned here this evening after comprehensive examinations and investigation of the disease and dead persons. Medical experts led by Dr Vijay Prakash had expressed apprehension that deaths might be because of eating of chana sag from pesticide-sprayed field. But they were yet to pinpoint the exact reasons of the deaths and only after proper investigation of the sample from the death dead people could tell exact reasons of deaths and diseases, they added.
A health department official told newsmen that medical experts were examining pathological samples of the exact reasons of the diseases. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who was informed of the disease by the local legislator of the areas, called up the senior doctors of the PMCH and the health minister and directed them to rush the village to know the exact reasons of the mysterious disease. He was informed that seven persons of the village had died of vomiting with watery fog in the mouth, Chief minister added.
At the moment, medical expert team had apprehended that food poisoning might be also the reasons of death. Four persons of family and another two persons of another family of the village had died of the mysterious disease. There were no sign of any viral and bacterial fever among the dead persons and other affected with the disease, the medical experts added and disclosed that one more death had been reported.
Health minister Ashwani choubey said that he was also visiting the village tomorrow for the first hand information of the disease.
Many villagers were suffering from the disease . Entire village people were seen fearful in the wake of mysterious deaths. In both the families, all age group of persons had died of the mysterious disease. Civil surgeon of Munger with a medical team and senior officials led by sub-divisional officer of Haveli Kharagpur Akhatar were camping in the village and providing them medical assistances, the report said.  http://magnificentbihar.co.in/2011/12/28/myseterious-disease/
