26 districts vulnerable for Bird Flu outbreak

AMNEPALGUNJ: The Health Ministry has put in place high alert programme in 26 districts, which are reported to be the most vulnerable for bird flu outbreak.

Under the first phase, measures are being taken to put special vigilance, constant monitoring of poultry related business, awareness creating training and prevention tips in eight districts including Nawalparasi, Chitwan, Banke, Ilam, Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari and Saptari.

Likewise, Livestock Service Office of the high-risk districts have set up surveillance points in different places and put forward campaigns to protect people from imminent threats posed by the bird flu outbreak, said Public Health Expert Kriti Sagar Baral.
