Previous post on this situation, located here

Ministry of Health issued a statement on meningitis' and spread recently, the statement reads as follows:
">Given what has been published by the media and social networking on the incidence of meningitis in the country confirm the Ministry of Health that the country there is no epidemic of disease Neisseria meningitidis, where the number of cases not reported average epidemiological and of ten cases per hundred thousand population in Kuwait, and the rumors that the World Health Organization had recommended the closure of some health institutions, parks and markets in Kuwait or Kuwait affected the disease has been denied by the regional office of WHO in Cairo, which is still considered the State of Kuwait is infected with the disease.

So there is no reasons to vaccinate only the contacts of the direct cases of confirmed or suspected of meningitis epidemic Neisseria housing or dealing with cases of medical workers and management as it is fixed scientifically that the meningitis epidemic Neisseria not transmitted only through the spray mix with the direct and close for a long time with the situation affected, which usually occur places residential crowded has been providing sufficient amounts of bait in the centers of preventive and stress at the same time that there is no reasons to vaccinate those who are not mixing with cases of confirmed or suspected of meningitis epidemic Neisseria mixing closely for a long time, especially as all cases of confirmed and suspected become non-infectious contacts of 24 hours after from taking effective antibiotics.

Note that the Ministry of Health is based vaccination on an annual basis for meningitis for children and pilgrims, employment and contacts of cases and travelers to the country affected and the cases that suffer from HIV, for the reasons known medical, and therefore all of the vaccinated groups mentioned are resistant enough for five years.

We ask everyone not to get carried away with all the information disseminated through social networking sites and the Internet, which marred much of the information and statements are accurate and that do not match with the actual situation in Kuwait, and that may be detrimental to Kuwait's reputation internationally with the need to investigate the taking of information from official sources from the specialists at the Ministry of Health, asking the Almighty to preserve the State of Kuwait and from all evil.
