Head of the Laboratory of Avian Influenza Research Centre University of Airlangga (Airlangga University), Prof.. Dr. drh. Chairul Anwar Nidom, declared the spread of bird flu virus through ducks and quails had happened this time. According Nidom, the government must determine whether the new virus has the potential to infect humans. According to him, Indonesia already has sophisticated laboratories and researchers Indonesia already qualified for such research.
