Hong Kong (HKSAR) - Following is the transcript of remarks made by the Secretary for Food and Health, Dr Ko Wing-man, after attending a public function this morning (March 17):

Secretary for Food and Health: Regarding a report saying that not all the patients contracted the new novel coronavirus would display serious clinical symptoms, I think this is a phenomenon which is common to all infectious diseases. That is to say, patients contracting any infectious diseases may demonstrate a wide range of clinical manifestations, including some with very severe symptoms and some with no clinical symptoms at all. I would like to reiterate that this is a common phenomenon for all infectious diseases.

This would remind all of us, including our clinical staff, that we always have to maintain a high level of alert and vigilance. Thank you.
