A 58-year-old man in the Mekong Delta Province of Hau Giang has become the 11th person to die from influenza A/H1N1, better known as swine flu, in Vietnam this year.

After that the Pasteur Institute Ho Chi Minh City, which conducted postmortem tests, confirmed that he had been infected with the A/H1N1 strain of swine flu.
Six of Thanh’s family members been isolated and are being tested for swine flu, while local health authorities have sterilized the environment around his house, online newspaper VnExpress reported.

Vietnam reported its first H1N1 death of the year in April.
